Who Should Apply

A doctoral degree in a relevant discipline and a record of peer-reviewed publication are expected. Applications are welcome from agronomy, horticulture, soil science, plant protection, animal nutrition, food technology and human nutrition. Applicants from outside India are particularly welcome — the journal receives manuscripts from several countries and needs reviewers who know those cropping systems and diets.

What the Role Involves

Board members handle manuscripts in their own subject area: an initial read for scope and quality, selecting reviewers, and a recommendation once the reports are in. Reviews are double-blind and comments are confidential. Members are expected to declare any conflict of interest and to follow the publication ethics of the journal. The workload depends on how many submissions arrive in your area.

Before You Apply

Have your degree, current position, department and institution ready, and see the existing editorial board to check where your subject fits. Naming your specific area — rice agronomy, post-harvest technology, soil microbiology, maternal nutrition — helps more than a broad label, because manuscripts are assigned by subject. Applications are reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief and a reply is sent to the email address given on the form.
