A soil survey was conducted in the Panipat district to assess the soil fertility status of the district. The interpretation of data generated by lab analysis of soil samples revealed that the soils of all blocks were majorly alkaline in reaction but few sample were slightly acidic (6.0-9.4). The electrical conductivity of the Bapoli, Samalkha, Panipat, Madlauda, and Israna blocks ranged from 0.09-0.66, 0.21-1.5,0.21-0.51,0.19-1.93 and 0.12-1.95 dSm-1. The respective mean values of EC were 0.38, 0.49, 0.35, 0.61, and 0.69 dSm-1. The soil texture ranged from sandy loam to clayey loam. The organic carbon content of the Panipat district ranged from 0.29-1.08% with a mean value of 0.58%. Approximately 74.6% of the soils were in the medium category, followed by 14.2 and 11.2 percent in the low and high categories, respectively. The nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium, and sulfur content in the soils of the Bapoli block ranged from 91-244, 4.8-71.2, 77-373 and 9-184.4 kg ha-1, with mean values of 175, 21.8, 158, and 65.6 kg ha-1, respectively. The nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium, and sulfur content in the soils of Smalkha block ranged from 113-230, 7.2-57, 67-391 and 26.9-261 kg ha-1 with mean values of 162, 24.6, 189, and 124.6 kg ha-1, respectively. The nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium, and sulfur content in the soils of Panipat block ranged from 99-216, 4.4-57.6, 80-373 and 31-215 kg ha-1 with mean values of 153, 26.2, 221, and 106 kg ha-1, respectively. The nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium, and sulfur content in the soils of Madlauda block ranged from 114-235,3.6-64.6,125-747 and 57.8-252.8 kg ha-1 with a mean value of 174, 29.9,277 and 137.5 kg ha-1, respectively. The nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium, and sulfur content in the soils of Israna block ranged from 125-236, 4.7-41.8, 126-586 and 23-530 kg ha-1 with a mean value of 110, 21.3, 255, and 161 kg ha-1, respectively. These findings provide a comprehensive baseline for targeted soil management and fertility enhancement strategies tailored to the specific conditions of each block within the district.
